On April 30, 1928 in Tashkent there was established Theatre for Young Audience. Play «Hut of uncle Tom» was the first performance played on a scene of Theatre for Young Audience. Two enthusiasts –artist S.Malt and doctor S. Etyen had put the performance. Staff of theater began its notorious activity, without having own room, suits and scenery, but movable by huge desire to present for children pleasure of theatrical creativity.
In 1991 N.K.Abdurakhmanov became a Head of Theatre for Young Audience. He came to theater with creative group of DARD theater studio formed by him in 1988. From this point Theatre for Young Audience left on qualitatively new stage of creative development. In the same 1991 year there was opened school studio in which future actors could prepare, and the best graduates joined theater troupe.
In 1998 Theatre for Young Audience was renamed into Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan. It was caused by changes of foreign policy of theater and changes in its internal life. Art director Nabi Abdurakhmanov caused Youth theater for enough short term to be in number of leaders among creative staffs of Uzbekistan.
Now theater are known and loved outside of the republic, staff of theater with pleasure invite to tours and international festivals. Since 1997 Youth Theatre of Uzbekistan is a member ASSITEJ – International Association of children and youth theaters.
